For Our Youth (FOY) is going to Mombasa, Kenya in March of 2023 for a mission trip to help elementary students in the area. FOY will be focused on Violence Prevention by educating the young people in keeping safe. We will be dispensing food and clothes as well and need your help to be able to give as much out to families as possible during our ten-day mission trip, led by a team of dedicated volunteers. This trip will prove to be life changing for those that join and support the team. Knowing you are a part of creating a significant change to improve the lives of young people in Kenya, will be with you the rest of your life.
If you decide to go on the mission trip, you’ll have some down time where you have the opportunity to visit historical sites, and really get to know your host country and their struggles. Aside from the generosity, kindness, and lessons you’re bound to treasure your experiences with other volunteers and future friends, there’s no doubt you'll leave with a greater appreciation of the privilege of a house to call a home, a school to send your children, and food to eat every day. Please seriously consider making a difference.
Ruth Smith went on the Mombasa, Kenya trip in March of 2022 and here is what she has to say about being a part of this life changing experiences: “This was a trip of a lifetime! I didn't know what to expect. I found the people to be respectful and humble which gave me joy. There was a sadness in my heart to see the conditions they lived in. There are only a few people who care enough to give to improve the life of others.
The people of Mombasa welcome us with open arms. They walked miles to greet us in the hot sun. We stopped by a family house to deliver food while neighbors looked on knowing that their belly would be empty for the night.
These people need help in many ways. They need help with education, health, and economic enrichment. Children need sponsorships so they will grow to be able to sustain themselves in a nation that faces overwhelming poverty.”
